about

In the spring of 2021 a group of musicians from Fellowship Denver Church started writing a record around the themes found in the New City Catechism. (New City Catechism is a year long liturgical Q&A study guide to help root Christians in the core principals of our faith) What came out of this season were songs that met us in the midst of processing the effects of the pandemic and the toll it has taken on our church. Two distinct themes started to emerge - Longing and Hope. We long for a world where all things are made new and where our bodies aren't experiencing the weight of the fall. Where God's goodness is fully realized and all people will worship Him in glory. Where sin and death are no more. We also recognize that while we long for this new kingdom to come we have to look forward with Hope. Our hope in the gospel sustains us today. We can rest in this hope knowing that we are forgiven, loved, and cared for as children of the almighty Father. It gives us life and energy to run well this race. To love others in our midst and to point people towards the renewing truth of the Gospel. These songs are filled with longing and hope. It's our prayer that these songs continue to meet people in hard and joyous places. That God would bind up our wounds in song and truth and that we as a people can see the Gospel in a deeper richer way through this work.
